Moving Elements:
The wall rotates on a axis to alter the layout of the space

This space functions as computer labs and studio spaces. This allows classes of different sizes to utilise the computers during classes but, when rotated, the spaces become two separate rooms for two different purposes.

This space transforms from a large boardroom style space into two smaller meeting rooms to best fit the requirements of the user.

Week 2 Submission: The Stair
(From section sketch 3)

The physical circular aspects of the staircase convey imagery reflecting the exponential growth of the links in the 'Mountain and Moon' earrings. The journey up the stairs would conjure a feeling a satisfaction as the artist relives their artistic process. The view from the top of the staircase affirms the artist's creation.

Stair No.2
(From section sketch No.4)

One of the most appealing aspects of the earrings is the paradoxical nature of the solid structure of the material, in contrast with the fluidity of the form. The central pillar of the stairs mirrors the solid structure, and the steps surrounding the pillar (like the snake) communicate fluidity. This results in a curious creative balance.

This is my HSC major work for visual arts. It depicts a variety of natural landscapes. It feels important for me to capture these types of images because as urbanisation continues to take more and more land, these natural areas become fewer. And yes, I see the irony as I am about to start architectural studies; designing and constructing more buildings.

The Australian parliament building. In my mind, this is an interesting  piece of architecture. This structure is an example of a style of architecture that utilises the physical natural landscape around it. Public access grass is situated on top of the building; this symbolises how the Australian public are held above the Australian parliament and not the other way around. The strong and high flag pole conveys a proud sense of nationalism. This building is a good piece of architecture because it: 1) uses the physical space around it well. 2) uses strong symbolism for what the building represents. 3) is rather aesthetically pleasing.

This is beautiful to me because it is a blank canvas, a clean slate. There is nothing to feed off of and nothing to refer to. With this, I have full creative freedom with no limitation. I suppose I’m saying that the potential for free creativity without limitations is beautiful because it has no cap on its potential.
